The Future of Faith
In the book
The End of Faith by Sam Harris, he talks about where faith lies in the future, what role it's play and where it'd be. Religion plays a huge role in the lives of people today. They preach, they pray, they worship, they live by the books, their bible. But have you ever wondered what will happen to religion in the years to come? Some people base their lives on what is said in their bible. Some people will do anything for their religion as long as their religion deems it as a right.
Now, the younger generations do not see the big fuss in religion. They might go to church and listen along, but do they really take what is said into consideration? The chances of them doing so is very low. Nowadays what kids learn about their religion goes in through one ear and out the other within matter of seconds.
Religion's role in lives of people is slowly decreasing. In time, religion will slowly disappear... Maybe not to a nonexistence but to a point where it is hanging on a thread.
People live really busy lives today and time cannot be made out to respect their religion. Though they say they are part of this religion or another, how often do they really commit to it? I'm not saying that they have to devote every living breathing moment of their lives to it but simply to just find the time to honor it. I'm not sure if that would be possible but I'm pretty sure that religion will die out when the lives of human-brings advance even more.
Even now, some people are questioning the existence of religion... Exactly how big of a role does it play in modern life? Where does the future of faith stand? No one really knows, why? Just because. I know this answer is vague but people intend to like to let faith plan out the future for them. I got to say, it's ironic how some people don't believe in a religion but they'll let faith handle their future. I wonder how that works and maybe they do believe in a religion if they're going to let faith guide them.
I think that you create your own faith. The things you do lead you to the next step... Eh, so now I'm guessing that it doesn't have to do with faith, just your own action.
