Mockingjay :O5“They'll be granted immunity!" I feel myself rising from my chair, my voice full of resonant. "You will personally pledge this in front of the entire population of District Thirteen and the remainder of Twelve. Soon. Today. It will be recorded for future generations. You will hold yourself and your government responsible for their safety, or you'll find yourself another Mockingjay!” (68 .Collins).
Katniss has all this power in her and she knows what she wants. She knows that she started this rebellion and she knows that she is the one that can stop it. Unlike everyone else, Katniss thinks differently. She doesn’t care what people think of her and she is sick of everything that she, her family and friends were put through. None of them agreed on this but President Snow has pushed it onto them.
Katniss was threatened with Gale by Snow and Katniss isn’t going to let anyone harm the people she cares for.
She knows that they cannot anything without her (she is the brains behind it anyways, she just doesn’t know), so she takes advantage of it and demands for everything possible for the people she love.
Katniss realizes here that she hasn't given "credit" to the folks in 13 who have been struggling for their lives just as she has been struggling for hers. In some ways, they had as tough a time making it in 13 as she did in the arena, and she hasn't given them enough respect for that. She now understands that her people from her district are going through the same thing. No longer are they separated, they are all in this together. Not only does she have to think about the people she knows, she has to think about everyone. She realizes that they have all been fighting for the same thing.
Katniss being what could be called the “chosen one”, shot videos constantly to show them rebelling. The whole entire time, I felt like she should be doing something more important, I mean she started the whole damn thing anyway. She is an asset yet they are treating her like she is the spokesperson. Katniss has the ability to do more but it seems like Coin and everyone else doesn’t want her to do anything. As if she would screw something up.
Poor Katniss… she knows what she wants but no one is willing to give it to her. She wants to help and make a different but all that they are giving her are petty jobs. I think that she should be out there making a different not getting glam up to take to a camera. Time’s ticking and they’re wasting every valuable second to make a change.
