Mockingjay :O4
“I'll tell them how I survive it. I'll tell them that on bad mornings, it feels impossible to take pleasure in things because I'm afraid it could be taken away. That's when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do. It's like a game. Repetative. Even a little tedious after more than twenty years. But there are much worse games to play.”  (390 .Collins).

The fight is finally over and President Snow defeated. Even twenty or so years after the Games and the war, it takes courage to get through each day. The events Katniss and Peeta witnessed – and the things they had to do in order to survive – have left permanent marks on them, mind, body, and soul. They can try to "make [their children] braver," but that's something they have to do for themselves all the time too.
Frankly, I am grateful of them. Because of them, the future generations can have better lives. The games practically ruined everyone in generations before. People lost their loves ones and could not complain. People turned mental and could not blame anyone but themselves for not being strong enough. All the government did was make the people feel like a burden, on themselves and others. I’m pretty sure that no one liked to live their lives all locked up. They fight for everything that they have but the government can take it away in a split second. To them, nothing was permanent and they all lived in fear. It’s great how now, they can speak their minds. Their children didn’t have to “play”/participate in stupid games. No one has to kill in order to be the last one standing.
Though President Snow is gone and so is his regime, the government will never be safe. Nothing is ever permanent. And in a way, the government is always going to be corrupted. The more people try to ‘fix’ it, the worst it gets. But at least now, people can live freely. The lives of future generations have a lot to learn and be thankful for; for that they don’t have to take part in what was suppose to keep them in their places.
This part really reminded me of my parents. They grow up the hard way. They had to do everything themselves and did not have the luxuries that I have today. They were the ones that supported their families, the Katniss, and had to work really hard to give my brother and me better lives. Katniss did everything that she could to give the children, like Rue and Prim, a brighter future and a better one, as well as the generations to come.
